BitMEX: Attacks on User Account Information Increased!

What is the way of protection? BitMEX warned users of attacks.

According to a blog post by BitMEX , a Hong Kong-based peer-to-peer crypto currency exchange on June 11th, a significant increase was observed in attacks on users’ account information.

While the crypto exchange has taken the best measures to prevent them, it is important that users use two-factor verification (2FA) . 2FA, also known as two-step verification, adds a layer of security to your account that is obtained using apps such as Google Authenticator or Authy , which requires additional information other than just a username or password. This method also offers full security against the recently increasing SIM card copy or replacement method and is much safer than the SMS security method.

BitMEX Requires 2FA
According to the announcement made by Google, BitMEX’s research using 2FA, all attempts to steal account is blocked. BitMEX emphasizes that 2FA is the safest way to avoid such attacks and is even considering making it mandatory on the platform.

Crypto money exchange, as well as weak or repeatedly used passwords, hacked e-mail addresses or computers infected with malware may lead to theft of accounts, he suggested.

The popular leveraged trading platform BitMEX ran a new record last month. Arthur Hayes, CEO of BitMEX, announced on May 11th that the 24-hour trading volume of the popular leveraged crypto currency exchange exceeded $ 10 billion.
